First Crossing of Greenland: The Gamble...
Fridjof Nansen was the spiritual mentor to Amundsen, Scott and Shackleton. He single handedly made polar expeditoins what they
are today. This book is an abridgment of two journals Nansen wrote of his daring crossing of Greenland.  Favoring a small
expedition, he was the most intelligent explorer of his age and a gifted writer and humanitarian who received the Nobel Peace Prize
in 1922.
Nansen: The Explorer as Hero
Roland Huntfords biography of polar explorer Fridtjof Nansen.

Farthest North
The long out-of-print Farthest North recounts  Fridtjof Nansen's epic 1893 pursuit of the North Pole on the ship he designed
the Fram. It's hard to fathom how a story with such an alluring hero was forgotten in the first place.

The First Crossing of Greenland
This Cold Heaven: Seven Seasons in Greenland
An account of the first Crossing by Nansen.

Greenland Expedition: Where Ice Is Born

An account of a 1997 circumnavigation by kayak and dog sled of Greenland the largest Island in the world.

Two Against the Ice
This is the first time the account has been published in the U.S. Mikkelsen and Iver Iversen, a ship's mechanic, set off sledging
across Greenland to retrieve the diaries of three other Danish explorers who perished during a previous expedition. Amazingly
they survive the two-year jaunt despite frostbite, scurvy, and near-starvation.

Driving to Greenland

The author packed up a 1974 Volkswagon minibus and set out to drive to Greenland.
